Nature Makers: Creativity, Connection, and Calm
Throughout the year, our Wild Craft Crew have been leading monthly Nature Makers sessions — a creative celebration of the seasons that connects people to the natural world in gentle, imaginative ways.
Led by the lovely Laura, sessions have taken place in both the Cornerstone Patch Community Garden and The Power House Hub, welcoming families, adults, and young people alike.
Together we’ve made bird feeders, created mosaic tiles for our sensory walkway, crafted plant labels, and spent the summer exploring the sensory side of the garden — experimenting with natural dyes and paints, flower pressing, still-life art, and watercolours. We even created lanterns ready to light up our upcoming Autumn Celebration.
Nature Makers has become a much-loved part of our calendar — providing calm, creative space for people to unwind, meet others, and rediscover the joy of making things with natural materials.
It’s about more than crafts — it’s about connection, wellbeing, and belonging. Through creativity and nature, we’re helping more people experience the healing benefits of the outdoors and build confidence in expressing themselves.
Our Nature Makers sessions take place every 2nd Saturday of the month and are free and open to all. Drop in or get in touch if you would like to take part.
Transforming Cornerstone Academy’s Nurture Garden Fence into a Work of Art
Ms Davidson the former Principal said if we could make this space beautiful you can use it … well this year, Bel, Laura, and all the volunteers who have given their time at Cornerstone Patch have certainly made Cornerstone Patch much more beautiful this year. Thank you so much everyone!
