Volunteer
The Power House is supported by a small staff team, but much of what we do is made possible by our volunteers. From helping at events to supporting activities and growing our community spaces, volunteers play an important part in everything we do.
We are a friendly and welcoming team, and we work hard to match people with roles they will enjoy and feel good about. You can explore the different ways to get involved on our Themes page.
If you would like to find out more about volunteering with us, please get in touch. Volunteers will need a valid DBS check, or we can help arrange one for you.
Membership
The Power House is a charity run by its members. You can join us for only £5 a year. The membership year starts on 1st April. If you join in January, February or March, your payment includes the following membership year. Membership entitles you to vote in the elections for The Power House’s Board of Directors, provided you have fulfilled the volunteering requirement (10 hours of volunteering for The Power House in the previous year). At some point, we intend to issue membership cards and negotiate discounts with local businesses.

When you support The Power House, you help bring people together in Hamworthy and Poole.
Your donation helps us run creative activities, community events and growing sessions at the Cornerstone Patch. It helps create warm, welcoming spaces where people can feel connected, supported and part of something positive.
