Finally We Have WiFi ... and even the installation was a mission!!

It’s taken us a little more than a year to pull together all the quotes we needed to have three to choose from for Broadband, and tech (mobile phones and tariff, laptops, office printer).

Early July SPC IT came to complete the internal installation for our Broadband, with us needing to wait for BT Openreach to complete the outside installation … which included needing to run an cable between telegraph poles across the busy Blandford Road! Therefore needing additional equipment and stopping traffic … more delays as we then needed to wait another week. Why is nothing ever simple at the hub!

It is so good to finally have a stable WiFi connection and it is set up so hub users can connect to a public connection … come in and enjoy the space and connect to the cyber world however you need.

A very big thank you to Talbot Village Trust and Alice Ellen Cooper Dean for your crucial funds for us to set up our Community Team with all they need.

Now is the mammoth task of migrating all our administration to Microsoft and creating a fluid internal logistics. We’re getting there. It’s our passion to be as efficient as possible. Every good organisation has a great administration system … Please bear with us … this is happening at the same time as migrating our Accounting system.

A very big thank you to National Lottery Reaching Communities Fund for the Organisational Development portion of your funding. It will go a long way for us to create a strong foundation on which to build The Power House.
