Knit & Natterers Host a Macmillan Coffee Morning (well an Afternoon Tea!)
In an earlier article, we said Pauline is good at coming up with suggestions … and this was one of them. Due to The Power House’s sad loss of one of our trustees who was also a dear friend, a last minute application was made and the date set for 2nd October.
Pauline hosted and made cakes, after delivering flyers. The Power House gave some publicity support, as well as help with setting up.
It was also International Day of Older People the day before, with our week’s activities aligning fully with this year’s theme of “Building Belonging: Celebrating the power of our social connections”. Our main passion is bringing people of any age and walk of life together. We especially love connecting the generations. Cornerstone Patch being a perfect example of that.
We had a good number of people turn up. We loved seeing Laura again - one of our Cornerstone Patch volunteers. And we especially loved her hoody … the essence of who we are. And turns out she wasn’t the only one sporting one! Naomi our temporary Administrator and Laura made a pair of sparkly, joy, light-bringing beauties!
Pauline was happy to have met a few new to her faces, and a very respectable £41 was raised, and she says thank you very much!
