Join our board and shape our community
Help shape a creative and caring future for our community
The Power House Poole is looking for new Trustees to join our growing community of volunteers, supporters and local changemakers.
We’re a creative community hub based in Hamworthy, bringing people together through arts, wellbeing, learning and participation. From creative health workshops and community activities to gardening projects and local partnerships, we believe connection and creativity can help communities thrive.
As we continue to grow, we’re looking for more Trustees who can help support and shape the next chapter of The Power House.
Why become a Trustee?
Our Trustees are volunteers who help guide, support and champion the organisation. They bring ideas, experience, encouragement and care, helping to ensure The Power House continues to grow in a sustainable, inclusive and community-led way.
This is an opportunity to:
· Be part of something meaningful locally
· Support creativity, wellbeing and connection in Poole
· Share your experience and ideas
· Meet a passionate and welcoming team
· Help shape the future of a growing community organisation
You don’t need previous Trustee experience to get involved. We welcome people from different backgrounds and experiences, including those joining a Board for the first time. What matters most is your commitment, curiosity and belief in the power of community.
Who we’re looking for
We’re interested in hearing from people who care about community, creativity and inclusion, and who can bring experience, insight or lived understanding such as fundraising, HR, finance, marketing and community development.
We are interested in hearing from anyone who thinks they can bring this insight to the team. In particular we are looking for:
Chair of the Board
Helping provide inclusive leadership and supporting the organisation through an exciting period of growth.
Treasurer
Supporting financial oversight, sustainability and stewardship for financial planning.
Trustees
Bringing your ideas, perspective, skills and encouragement to support the wider work of The Power House.
Support and commitment
We want people to feel welcomed and supported in these roles. New Trustees will receive an induction, ongoing guidance and opportunities to learn more about charity governance and leadership.
The Board currently meets monthly as we support an exciting phase of development, with plans to move towards quarterly meetings during 2026.Reasonable expenses are covered.
Interested?
We’d love to hear from people who feel excited by what we’re building, whether you’ve been a Trustee before or not.
If you’d like an informal conversation before applying, we warmly welcome that.
