Poole Britannia! platinum jubilee

At the beginning of 2022, Lighthouse, Poole invited The Power House to partner with an application to Arts Council England Let’s Create Platinum Jubilee Fund to reflect upon Her Majesty’s glorious 70-year reign, her connection with Poole and the local community.

From this grew a beautiful project giving the commuity of Poole and beyond an opportunity to come together, create, and celebrate Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee, which resulted in:

3 Legacy Pieces:

“Blueprint Princess Elizabeth” by Amanda Waite with 17 GCSE Art Students and The Power House Cyanotype Mosaic Portrait of the Queen

“Jubilee Globes” by The Clayshack Longfleet Primary After-School Club Ceramic Sculptures

“7 Platinum Jubilee Mosaic Murals” by David Bowers with The Federation of Hamworthy Primary Schools, from designs by 21 pupils.

“HRH Then & Now” by Rob Hughes: marketing image commissioned by The Power House

“Jubilee Song” written and composed by Ali Sharpe, local Choir Director

The Federation of Hamworthy Primary School’s Learning Project and exhibition with Creative Writing and Drama workshops facilitated by CoCreate, and Ali Sharpe teaching her “Jubilee Song” to Year 5 and 6 pupils.
