Ocean academy

The Power House Poole and Ocean Academy created a collaborative Design and Technology project for the Year 3 children. Alix Digby-West, presented to Ocean Academy’s children and talked to them about The Power House Poole Project, their local area and the importance of community and sustainability. The children then split off to work in groups to decide what their community arts building of the future would look life. After that, Alix left the children with a brief, which was to design and make The Power House Poole building, which could potentially go on the Hamworthy Regeneration site. The children absolutely loved this real life design brief and were brimming with ideas. Alix returned at the end of term so that the children could show her their models and talk to her about their ideas. One child, Marley, was so inspired that he even went home and spent time creating a second model (pictured below).
