Thanks to Wessex Water we can Upcycle through 2026!

A huge thank you to Wessex Water through Dorset Community Foundation for awarding £3917, so we can invite Sonja of Uptown Junk back to teach more skills to community members to upcycle items and gifts. Upcycling is a great way of modernising and repairing older items; subsequently saving things from going to landfill. Making homemade items a more sustainable option as well as a more personal, unique way to give a gift.

We are finding our Upcycling Café Sessions a great way for community members to engage in a creative activity and build friendships.

A portion of this grant is also for Community Woodwork Sessions as a pilot project as we engage with the community to test appetite to set up a Hamworthy Community Shed.

The Upcycling Café is led by volunteer Mike and was launched in September in memory of Marie Pandolfo and thanks to donations made at her funeral.
