Meet Laura: Our New Youth Project Lead.

Hi, I’m Laura, the new Youth Project Lead at The Power House Poole.

I grew up locally and recently returned home to Poole after many years of living and working around the world as an Art Teacher and volunteering with humanitarian projects. I have lived across Asia, the Middle East and Africa, travelled to more than 60 countries and speak three languages. I am a lifelong learner and really value learning from other people and cultures.

I am creative, active and happiest outdoors. I love art, playing and coaching football, practising yoga, sea swimming and walking in nature with my dog. I am also a trained Thai boxer!

For over 20 years, I have worked alongside young people in schools, community projects and creative spaces. I believe in taking the time to get to know you, listening to what you have to say and understanding what matters to you. This helps me to advocate for you and work with you to create welcoming youth spaces and experiences where you can relax, have fun, express yourself, feel that you belong and show the world what you can do!

I am excited to hear your ideas, collaborate with you and create activities, projects and events that reflect your interests and experiences.
